Chapter 33

It was New Year's Eve and the day of the Crowning had arrived. Victor sat in the kitchen going over the final details in his head.

He had waited a long time for the day his beautiful daughter Keesha would finally take her place in this world. In the past few weeks, Keesha had definitely come into her own. She was going to be a great queen.

He felt such a sense of pride. If only Lorraine could understand and appreciate the magnitude of this moment. As angry as he was about her affair with Malcolm and everything that transpired since, he was still deeply in love with her. Unfortunately, the tension between them was thick enough to cut with a saw.

Lorraine entered the kitchen without acknowledging Victor's presence. "I expect you'll be in a better mood tonight!" Victor demanded.

"I don't know why you'd expect that, since I'm not going," Lorraine said rolling her eyes, as she poured a cup of coffee.

"What do you mean, you're not going?" he replied angrily. "This is the biggest night of our daughter's life and we both should be there to celebrate."

"You can't possibly think I would participate in this ridiculous nonsense!" Lorraine yelled.

"Yes, I do," Victor strongly insisted. "For once it's not about you Lorraine. Tonight is about Keesha. It doesn't matter whether you like it or not. We're going to support our daughter tonight and that's all there is to it!"

Lorraine closed the distance between. "What are you going to do if I don't show up?" she demanded, poking him in the chest. "Punish me! Ban me from the house! Or better yet, file for divorce and leave me destitute!"

Victor felt his anger rising with each poke from Lorraine.

"Come on tell me," she cried, beating on his chest. "I've already lost Keesha, so what more can you do to me!"

Victor grabbed Lorraine's arms and pinned them behind her back, as she tried to break free from his grip. Catching her balance, she managed a quick kick to his ankle.

"Ouch!" he screamed as the pain shot up his leg.

"Let go of me!" Lorraine screamed, determined to break loose from the tight grip he had on her arms. "Let me go!"

Before Lorraine could get in another kick, Victor pulled her into a passionate kiss. Clothes were scatter across the kitchen, as they fought then gave into the heat that had been building between them. In a matter of minutes, the crashing sound of plates hitting the floor rang through the house, as they lay on the kitchen table. "Lorraine," he moaned with each thrust. "My sweet Lorraine!"

"I'm here baby," she cried wrapping her legs around his waist. "Come to mama!"

"Yes!" They both screamed reaching the point of ecstasy.

An hour later, a sensuous hot shower with tender caresses and kisses continued to ease the tension between them.

"I know you don't believe me, but I do love you Victor," Lorraine whispered slowly rubbing soap on his muscular chest.

"Despite everything that's happened, I still love you too," he said, softly caressing her face. "Just because you don't believe in what will happen tonight, doesn't mean you shouldn't be there for Keesha."

"Does this mean I'm off the hook about Malcolm?" she asked coyly.

"Not even a little bit," he replied sternly. "You're going to have to accept your punishment. But whatever happens, we'll get through it together. Like I told you, until death do us part."

"Will you at least help me makes some headway with Keesha?"

"Sorry baby, you're on your own. Keesha's entitled to her anger, so the two of you will have to work that out together," he said. "But I'll be right by your side."

"How can we possibly work things out, with that bulldog of a husband guarding her!"

"I know. Jason can be a bit overprotective?" Victor said remembering his last visit. "But, he truly loves Keesha and if she's going to stay in our lives, then we have to respect her bulldog of a husband. Besides, she can handle him."

"If you say so," Lorraine said annoyed. "Alright, I'll be there tonight and take my punishment like a woman, but Jason better watch his step."

"That's my girl," Victor smiled. "You'll see, it'll be a night we'll never forget!"
