Chapter 20
Keesha was halfway to the condo, when her car stalled. Pulling over to the shoulder, she began dialing Triple A, when an oncoming car pulled up behind her.
Blinded by the headlights, she started to panic until she heard Jason's voice. "What are you doing alone all the way out here?" he asked.
"Are you doing following me?" she shot back.
"No, I'm not following you. I was on my way to visit some friends."
"Sure you were," Keesha replied unconvinced. "I could accuse you of stalking."
"Get over yourself Keesha. Besides, how do I know you didn't set this up so I'd have to rescue you?"
"Now who needs to get over themselves. If you must know, I'm on my way to see Malcolm."
"Really! You're going to finally let him know that it's me you want?" he said.
"You really don't give up do you," she laughed.
"No, I don't," he replied in a serious tone taking her keys. After repeated attempts to start the car he came to the conclusion that the engine was dead.
"I don't know what's wrong with the car. But, why don't I take you to your destination and Triple A can tow the car to your house."
"I don't think that's a good idea," she replied. "Besides, that would be disrespectful to Malcolm."
"I'll wait for you outside. If things don't work out, you leave with me. But, if the two of you make up, which I don't think you will, then you just give me some kind of sign from the window and I'll leave."
Keesha looked at her watch, which read 8:25. "Okay, but you promise to stay in the car."
"I promise," Jason smiled crossing his heart. "Besides, would I lie to my future bride."
"Jason!"
"You know you love me, woman. The sooner you admit that to yourself and pretty Malcolm, the sooner we can get on with our lives," he winked.
"Just drive crazy man," she smiled.
"That's right. I'm crazy for my baby Keesha," he sang pulling the car on the road.

"Oh shit, " Malcolm moaned as he collapsed on top of Lorraine. "Damn, woman, you sure know how to put it on a man."
Lorraine slid from underneath Malcolm's sweaty body and headed to the bathroom to wash off his filth. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and for the first time, tears of shame streamed down her face.
"Pull yourself together girl. It's almost over."
"That was fantastic," he said pulling her into a passionate embrace. "I'm looking forward to more nights like this."
"What do you mean more nights like this? Tonight was a one time deal only."
Malcolm's look of surprise turned to rage. "You lying bitch," he yelled. "I should have known this was a trick."
"I don't know what you're talking about. All I know is you're getting out of our lives for good."
"I'm not going anywhere," he replied in a harsh tone. "Keesha's going to be my wife and as an added bonus, you and I will continue our little arrangement here."
"There's no way in hell, I will ever let you touch me or my daughter again."
"Obviously, you've forgotten about the tape," he said with a smug smile.
"No, I didn't forget. But, you forgot what I told you," she said pulling the gun out of her purse and pointing it at Malcolm.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" he laughed bitterly.
"I'm finishing this once and for all."

"Here we are," Jason said.
"Remember, you're going to stay in the car until I give you a signal."
"Yeah, yeah, I remember. Now, go tell Malcolm it's over and come back to me Sunshine."

Keesha entered the condo and heard loud voices coming from upstairs. "Malcolm," she called out.
The sound of Keesha's voice distracted Lorraine. Malcolm moved quickly and grabbed for the gun. "Give this gun to me you stupid bitch," he yelled struggling to loosen her grip.
"Let go," Lorraine shouted unrelenting.
"Malcolm what's going on," Keesha yelled entering the bedroom as the gun went off.
Keesha stood in shock at the sight of Lorraine and Malcolm, until she looked down to see blood on her hands. "Mommy," she cried out before slumping into darkness.
