Web of Deception Chapter 11
Keesha didn't know how she ended up at Pine Valley Lake. She called Malcolm, but as usual, he was busy with a business meeting at Winters Communications.
The thought of going back to the mansion and facing her mother was not an option, so she popped Luther Vandross' Greatest Hits into the CD player and let the road take her.
Fate must have led her to Pine Valley Lake, which was one of her and Jason's favorite places. They would pack a basket and lay out on the shore planning their future. He was going to be a freelance journalist and she was going to be a freelance photographer. They were going to travel the world with his writing and her photography appearing in all the top magazines.
"Sometimes I wonder how things would have turned out, if I had stood up to my mother years ago," Keesha said aloud.
"We would still be together loving each other."
"Jason!" Keesha exclaimed. "How long have you been sitting there? Are you following me?"
"I was here long before you arrived," he said closing the distance between them. "I like to come here sometimes to think."
"What are you doing here, Sunshine?" he asked gently brushing the hair out of her eyes.
"I was just driving and somehow ended up here."
"What's wrong?"
"What makes you think, something's wrong?" she said trying to avoid his intense gaze.
"Five years may have passed, but I can still tell when you're upset. Tell me what's wrong," he said gesturing for her to sit next to him on the rocks.
"I promise I won't bite."
Without giving it a second thought, Keesha sat next to Jason and told him about her argument with Lorraine.
"Your mother has always been overbearing and controlling. But, I must say I'm quite proud of you for standing up to her. Even if I do think you're making a mistake marrying Malcolm."
"You don't even know Malcolm, so how can you say I'm making a mistake?" she asked annoyed.
In one quick move, Jason pulled Keesha into a passionate kiss that erased the past five years. The heat rose in their loins as need and desire started to overtake them, before Keesha abruptly pulled away.
"I wasn't sure before, but now I know, you still love me," he said breathlessly.
"You're wrong," she said trying to break free from his enticing embrace. "I love Malcolm. He's the one I'm going to marry."
Jason held Keesha tight, as their hearts beat in unison. "Five years ago I let you go without a fight," he said staring deep into her soul. "I won't make that mistake again."
"Malcolm's my future and you're my past. Just accept it. "Good-bye Jason."
He smiled as Keesha speed off in her red BMW coupe. "You're wrong Sunshine. I'm your now and forever. "
