Carly could see red as she saw Keesha and Jason enter Kelly’s together talking. She watched how Jason was being the perfect gentleman to her. To her of all people! If Courtney didn’t come soon she wouldn’t know what to do. Just then her prayers were answered as she walked in the door. Courtney was walking through the door so fast she didn’t pay any attention to Jason and Keesha sitting in the restaurant. Jason’s eyes followed Courtney as she waltzed in. Keesha turned around and looked too.
"Ex-wife?"
"Yeah."
"You said you wanted to meet me?" Courtney noticed the strange looks Carly had pointing in one direction. She turned around and looked at Jason and another woman sitting at a table. "If you called me for this then I want no part of it."
"No its not that, come to my office." Carly led Courtney down to The Cellar where they could talk alone. "Do you want something to drink?"
"No I just want you to tell me what you called me for."
"Jason."
"I told you Carly, I want no part of that. I’m with Brian and now and that’s all that matters."
"I know you’re with Brian and I don’t want you two to break up, I just need some help with something."
"Like what?"
"The woman he’s with, Keesha."
"Keesha? Keesha Ward?"
"That’s her in the flesh."
"Are you serious?"
"I’m assuming you know about her."
"Yeah well A.J. told me about her and how he and Jason was in love with her. How Jason took her away from him at first and how Jason turned his back on her."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah that mumbo jumbo anyways she’s nothing but trouble."
"And why is that, she seems like a nice person."
"Looks are deceiving Court. I know you’re with Brian but I don’t want Jason to get hurt and that’s all Keesha will do."
"So what do you want me to do?"
"Talk to her, convince her not to be with Jason."
"Carly I don’t know if I can."
"You can, just tell her why you left Jason and go from there."
"Wow sounds like you have a lot of visitors" Keesha smiled.
"Well I am a popular guy" Justus laughed. Keesha dried her hands on the dishcloth in the bathroom and headed for the front door. Justus followed behind in his electric wheelchair. Keesha’s smile drifted away as her eyes set on the young blond standing on the other side of the side of the door.
"Are you Keesha?" she asked.
"Yes I am." She scanned the young woman that she saw two nights ago at Kelly’s. She didn’t look threatening, but she wondered why she was there. She and Jason weren’t dating or anything, then again they weren’t married anymore either so he was free to see anyone he chose, including her.
"Who is it Keesha?" Justus asked from behind his magazine.
"Jason’s ex-wife." Justus snapped up from the magazine and looked up at the two
women.
"Uh, you know, WHAT? WHAT’S THAT? WHAT DID YOU SAY GARBAGE CAN? Sorry I gotta get out of here, the garbage can called me and told me it needed some assistance." Keesha raised her eyebrow at the crazy idea.
"Justus you can stay, this shouldn’t take long" she said looking back at Courtney.
"If you were someone other than you would you want to stay?" Justus drove off leaving the women alone in the room.
"I’m assuming you’re here because of Jason?"
"Something like that."
"Have a seat."
"Alright." Courtney walked out of the doorway and had a seat on the couch.
"Just to let you know, I’m not with Jason, I’m only here to help my cousin get better."
"Oh."
"But I’m sure there’s a reason why you came by, maybe to warn me about dating him?"
"Yeah I guess you could say that. I left Jason because I couldn’t deal with his lifestyle. It was too much for me, I couldn’t deal. Wondering if he’d come back alive at night, wondering where he was, if he was ok. I wouldn’t want to see you go through all the trials and tribulations that I had to go through."
Keesha could tell that the young woman had to have meant everything she said. She could sense the fear written all over her face as she talked about a life she once lived with Jason and she would’ve appreciated her coming over to talk to her aside from one exception.
"Well thank you for coming over and tell me that but honestly I’m not looking for anything with Jason. In fact the only reason why you saw us together he wouldn’t let me leave by myself unless he got me something to eat so I guess you could say I was there against my will."
"Right, well on that note, I am going to leave you and your cousin be." Courtney grabbed her purse and got up from the couch to leave.
"Thanks for stopping by and tell Carly I appreciate her persuading you to come over but I’m sure you can reassure her that there’s nothing, absolutely nothing going on between us."
"How’d she know?" Courtney thought. She turned to face Keesha, who could also tell that she knew that she knew Carly sent her over there. Courtney gave her a tight smile and left out of the Ward apartment. Keesha couldn’t help but laugh to herself. Yeah she might have changed but she was still the same old Carly she knew.
"How is she feeling Reginald?"
"Unbelievably better, go see for yourself." Jason ran upstairs to his grandmother’s room. She had been so sick lately. Just seeing her that way was heart wrenching but when he entered her room she was a completely different person. She was up for the first time walking, fixing the pictures of her dresser.
"Lila?"
"Oh dearie, how nice to see you!"
"You’re up walking."
"Yes I am and it feel great."
"You’re not going to over exert yourself are you?"
"No not at all. Come over here have a seat."
Jason walked further into the room and had a seat on the bed next to his grandmother. If you would’ve asked him how she looked just a month ago, he would’ve said she was close to her last days but now she was smiling and up smiling. Her complection was clear, she never looked more beautiful.
"You look great." Jason leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you dear. How have you been?"
"Good, good."
"I’ve been told by Reginald that Keesha is back in town."
"Yeah she is." Jason began to blush at the mention of her name.
"Have you talked to her?"
"Yes I have, she has her guard up a little and I can’t blame her but we’re getting there."
"Oh that’s great." Lila took Jason’s hands and held them in hers.
"Lila can I ask you something?"
"Yes you may."
"That girl, that was here, is she the reason why all this is happening? You getting better? And the other thing?"
"Yes she is the reason, now do you believe?"
"Yes I do."
"Well then you know what you have to do." Jason nodded.
"Yeah I do."
"I’m glad you’re cousin is doing better."
"Thanks."
"There’s some slices of apple pie in there for you guys on the house."
"Well thank you Elizabeth, I’ll be sure to tell him." Keesha grabbed her Kelly’s carry out bag and left out. But as she headed out the door she made a mistake and knocked someone in the face with the door. "Oh my gosh! I am so sorry."
"No, no, its ok, that’s what I get for standing so close to the door."
"Let me see your eye." Keesha examined the man’s left eye that ran into the door. "I am such a klutz, I should’ve seen you there."
"Well my black attire might have made that hard. Is it ok?"
"Yeah its fine, you might want to put some ice on it so it doesn’t give you a shiner." r
"If I tell my colleagues that you gave me a black eye can I add some inches onto your height?"
"Sure" she laughed. She hadn’t paid any attention to him at first for fear she had really hurt him but when she really looked her was quite a handsome man. Tall, dark brown hair, beautiful blue eyes and well dressed.
"Keesha Ward" she smiled holding out her hand to shake.
"You’re not going to hit me with that are you?"
"Ha ha, I hit you with the door not my hand."
"Duly noted, Lorenzo Alcazar, nice to meet you despite the circumstances."
"Yeah."
"Oh no." Carly watched from the inside of Kelly’s of Keesha and Lorenzo’s little conversation. Though she wasn’t crazy about her she didn’t want her to involved with him of all people! She wanted to ran out the door and scream for him to get away from her. She watched as he handed her a small white card. There was no more waiting around, she was going out there, that’s exactly what she was going to do. Carly made her way to the front door of Kelly’s but as soon as she hit the door Keesha and Lorenzo disbanded.
"What the hell do you think you’re doing?" Lorenzo looked over to the woman who once held his heart, and in some ways still did.
"What are you talking about?"
"Talking to that woman."
"I didn’t know you were the jealous type Carly. You know you can’t have your cake and eat it too."
"You know exactly what I’m talking about, you know who she is and don’t act like you don’t."
"What does it matter to you?"
"Because you’re poison Lorenzo. Everything you touch gets hurt."
"You know last time I checked you didn’t even like Keesha Ward."
"So you do know about her."
"Not only do I know about her, its going to bring me great joy to watch Jason Morgan squirm while I have her in my company and turn her into that dirty little girl she knows she wants to be."
