“Well, I would only do it for you Evangeline.” Bo said with a smile.

John walked over to the other desk and sat down, never taking his eyes off of her.

“I think someone wants to talk to you.” Bo said, gesturing towards John.

Evangeline smiled at Bo and slowly turned around to see John sitting on one of the desks, smiling at her.

“Hi.” She said slowly walking towards him, “I thought you had the day off.”

“I did, but they were supposed to bring in a witness but she is running a little late.”

“Oh really.” She said inching closer to him.

“Yes, really. What are you doing here?” He said standing from the desk, and running his hands through her hair and lightly caressing her cheek.

“Well, Todd got into a little bit of trouble; Bo called me on his behalf, so I am here.”

“Are you busy?”

“For you never.” She said stroking his chin.

“Care to join me in my office?”

“For what?”

“I thought we could relive this morning, last night, and yesterday afternoon.”

“Seriously? With all of these people around?”

“Yes I am serious.” he said as a whisper into her ear. He lingered there for a minute breathing her scent in. He couldn't ever get enough of her the way she felt, smelled, tasted; everything about her drove him crazy.

“Are you sure about this?”

“I have never been more serious in my life.” He said taking her hand and in to his and slowly walking to his office.

“John….” Evangeline said with a small smile.

“What.” He asked turning back to face her stopping short of his door.

“John, we can't do this. Not now. I mean everyone is around.”

“That didn't stop you from coming here yesterday and seducing me.” He said in a whisper so the other officers could not hear their conversation.

She leaned in close to him, “John I only came for a kiss yesterday and you were the one that seduced me.”

“I wasn't the one running my leg up and down your leg, was I?”

“I guess you are right about that one.”

“I know I am, so come on, I just want to be close to you.” He said with a smile.

She planted a hard kiss on his lips, and their mouths parted letting the others tongue slowly move into it. He ran one hand up her back and opened the door with the other. They stumbled into the office never having their lips part. She let out a soft moan as his hands found her bottom and gave it a little squeeze. She let out a small laugh when he did this.

“You like that?” he said in between kisses.

“Yeah.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah, now stop talking more kissing.” She said kissing him back.

She pulled of her jacket, and it fell to the ground. He did the same; she started losing his tie, when a knock came at the door. They quickly broke apart and she moved away from him, picking up her jacket off the floor and putting it back on. He walked to the door, wiping her lipstick from his lips and running his hands through his hair. He slowly put his hand on the knob turning to make sure that she was presentable.

“Yeah, Gilmore what can I help you with?” John asked trying to regain his composure.

“Sorry, to interrupt Lieutenant, but that witness is here.”

“I thought you said she would be here in a half an hour.”

“Yeah, that is what she told me too, but she got here early and you told me to come and get you when she got here.”

“Yeah, thanks Gilmore, put her in interview room one and I umm, I will be right there.” John closed the door and turned back around to see Evangeline with her head down; when the door closed she looked up and started laughing. John walked closer to her and started laughing too. He took her hand and pulled her towards him.

“Finish this later?” he asked her taking her chin in to his hand.

“Maybe.” She said with a smile.

“Maybe, what do you mean maybe?” he said raising one eyebrow and taking a small step back.

“I mean maybe. I will talk to you later. I have to meet Nora for lunch I forgot, sorry we can't have lunch.” She moved slowly away from him and kissed him on the cheek she wiped the lip stick from his cheek and gave him a small smile. “Bye.”

“No worries about lunch, I will grab something around here or maybe I will see you at Rodi’s if this gets wrapped up quickly.”

He nodded in her direction, and followed her as she walked out the door. He closed the door behind her and took a deep breath. He almost lost control once again. How did this woman make him lose all sense of control and good judgment? He ran his fingers across his lips, he could still feel her body pressed against her, he could still smell her scent on his clothes. He gathered himself and headed over to the interview room.

Evangeline fixed her hair and headed over to Rodi’s to meet Nora. When she walked in she saw Nora sitting at a table waiting for her.

“Hey, Nora.” She said walking towards her friend, and giving her a small hug.

“Hey, yourself. I have been waiting for like 10 mins. where have you been. I thought you forgot about lunch.”

“I am so sorry. I was at the station helping Todd out of something, and then I ran into John.”

“Ohh, really? How are things between you two?” she asked leaning in to hear her response.

“Things, between John and I are quiet interesting.”

“Interesting, what does that mean?”

“Things are good, but there is something there that I have never had in any other relationship. It is interesting; it is really hard to explain.”

“Well, try. You were ten minuets late to lunch with me, your hair is a little messed up and you seem out of sorts.”

“What do you mean out of sorts.” She asked Nora as the waitress came over and took their orders.

“You just seem, I don't have the words. You just don't seem like yourself.” Nora said.

“Well, honestly I don't know. John has some weird effect on me, I know that. This is just between you and me okay.”

“Of course, what is it? Is everything okay?” she said leaning in even closer, moving the napkins and condiments out of the way.

“Everything, is absolutely great. John makes me feel, I don't know. Every time I am around him, if he is not standing next to me, I mean right next to me, I feel like he is to far away. He makes me lose all sense of control around him. The way he smiles at me not just with his mouth but his eyes as well. I can feel him watching me and it feels good.”

“Wow!”

“Wow! Is right. Nora, I have never felt this way about anyone. Just between you and me right.”

“Yeah, just between you and me.” She said nodding her head feverishly.

“Before I um, came to meet you. I and mean John and I, almost you know, um we almost. You get what I am saying right?”

“Are you telling me you almost you knowed in John’s office in the middle of the day.”

Evangeline blushed as she flashed back to John’s office, she could still feel his hands roaming all over her body, his lips pressed against hers. His deep breath breathing in her ear harder and harder, neither of them could catch their breaths. “Yes, we almost …” her voice trailed off as the waitress brought their food. They both looked up at her and smiled politely.

“Oh my, Evangeline. I am going to have to start knocking and then waiting for a response when John’s office door is closed.”

“Ha ha, very funny Nora. It was just a one time thing.” She knew what she had just told her friend was a lie. It wasn't a one time thing. They actually had made love in his office, but Evangeline felt a little embarrassed admitting that tidbit of information to her friend. “So lets move away from me, how are things with you?”

“No, no, no we are talking about you here. What is going on between you two? He seems to act the same way around you as well. I have noticed the way he looks at you Evangeline.”

“Yeah, I know I can feel him looking at me. It is like he is undressing me with his eyes. When we are alone we can't keep our hands off of each other. The last time I felt like this, was when I was in high school with my first boyfriend.”

“He makes you feel all girlie, doesn't he?”

“Yes he sure does.” She said blushing.

“I am happy for you, so happy for you. I like this Evangeline much sweeter. The hard nosed one was great too don't get me wrong, but this Evangeline I think I like her better.”

“Me too, Nora me too.”

Evangeline and Nora finished eating lunch and Nora had to leave to go to a District Attorney meeting at the court house. Evangeline stayed at Rodi’s working on some paperwork instead of going back to the office. It was close to three and Evangeline called Todd to make sure he was ready to go back to the police station for questioning and possible arrest.
