“I was just thinking maybe you would like to help me cook tonight’s dinner. I mean nothing fancy and too complicated. I know you cook all day and probably don’t want to do when you aren’t on the job.”

“John…. I would love to help you cook dinner tonight.” She said smiling at the Police Lieutenant.

“Really?” he asked hoping that she would help him. He really wanted to do something special for Evangeline tonight, especially after giving her a hard time about Jax

“Yeah it should be fun. How about I come over after work?”

“That sounds great! Thanks Alex for doing this. I really appreciate it. I think you are going to have a lot of fun tonight. My brother and friends are pretty decent people.”

“I am sure they are. You think of something that you would like to make and call my cell phone and leave a message. I will call you back when I head to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients.”

“You don’t have to do that. I can do that.”

“You better let me do that okay. I tend to know where to find the best food in town even if I haven’t been in town for a while.” She said laughing and rising from the chair. John did the same.

“Okay, then I guess I will have to trust your judgment. So I will see you tonight around 6:30?”

“That sounds good, just leave what you want to make on my cell phone as well as the address of the place.”

“Will do, have a great day at work.”

“You too John.” She said turning back to face him as she walked out the door. She smiled and left him to get back to work and think up something for dinner.

“Jasper Jax, please.” Evangeline said resting the phone on her shoulder while trying to sign her name to some papers that had just came across her desk.

“Jax?”

“Evangeline, it is so nice to hear from you. I am guessing this is about the job I offered you last night.”

“You would be correct. I’m in.” she said with a huge smile.

“You are taking the job?” he said a little too excited.

“Yes I am.”

“That is great news. I need you to sign some contracts. The thing is that I can’t come there and my secretary is out and I have no idea where anything is in my office, is there any way you could come here and sign them. I can have my helicopter pick you up at the top of your building. It is a quick hour ride here, you sign them over lunch we will talk details and things. I will give you the quick Port Charles tour and you are home in time for dinner.”

“Jax that would be great!” she said holding in her complete excitement and joy about riding in a helicopter. “What time should I be ready?”

“Well it is about 10 now, so let’s say be on the roof at 11 or so that will put you in Port Charles around noon. That is if I can get my helicopter in the air now. I will tell the pilot to call you when he is about to land.”

“Thanks again Jax.”

“I should be the one thanking you Evangeline. You are a real life saver. I hope this business partnership turns into more.”

“I will see you at noon.” Evangeline said hanging up the phone wondering what Jax meant by his last statement. Evangeline dialed John’s work phone it went straight to his voice mail, so she called him on his cell phone. It too went straight to voice mail so she left a message, “Hey it is me, listen I am going to Port Charles for the day I will be back in time for dinner, and it is your turn to cook don’t forget Michael, Marcie and Antonio will be over for Wednesday night dinner. I will see you at home later. I love you.” Evangeline hung up the phone and started packing up some of the files she had been working on for Jax. An hour later the pilot called her office to let her know he was just about to land on top of the Buchanan Plaza building. She gathered her stuff and took the elevator up to the roof where she saw the helicopter off in the distance starting its descent. Evangeline placed her briefcase under her arm and held it tightly to her chest and placed a hand shading her eyes as she watched the helicopter come closer. The door swung open as the propellers slowed and finally stopped. She walked over to the waiting helicopter.

“Evangeline Williamson?” the pilot asked.

“Yes that is me?”

“Great, do you have everything? Mr. Jax is waiting for you back in Port Charles. He said to take you right to the Metro-Corp Building for lunch.”

“Good thank you.”

“Have you ever been in a helicopter?” he asked helping her into the aircraft.

“No I haven’t but I have always wanted to fly in one.”

“Well it is similar to a plane just much nosier. So here put these on so that if you have to say anything or I have something to say to you we can hear each other.” He said handing her a pair of head phones with a microphone attached to it. The helicopter started off and it startled Evangeline a little the ride seemed to go really quickly but she loved the view and wished John was there with her to experience it. She watched as they descended on to the top of the building and saw Jax standing on the roof waiting for her.

“How was your ride?” Jax asked helping her out of the helicopter

“Amazing. I have to get John into one of those, he would love it.” Evangeline responded smiling back at Jax.

“I bet he would.” Jax said with the biggest fake smile he could muster. He escorted Evangeline into the building and to the elevator and down into the restaurant.

“So did you bring everything with you that you have completed for me?”

“Yeah, I am still working on some of these loop holes that he had place in the contract. This guy was trying to be slick, but he isn’t getting anything past me.”

“I knew you were the right person to higher for this job.”

“Thanks for the vote of confidence in me Jax.”

“I knew you were confident. I mean clerk at the Supreme Court at age 26. That is quite a feet.”

“What….”his statement caught her off guard. “How did you know that?”

“When I work with people, I tend to find out everything about them. I don’t like surprises.”

“Ohh, so what else do you know about me?” she said stopping him as they walked into the restaurant.

“Plenty, plenty.” He said with a smile. He placed a hand on the small of her back and walked her to a table in the restaurant. He pulled out her chair she smiled at his gesture and took the seat.
