Undeniable Part 27

The small house sat at the corner of Buena Vista and La Mesa Drive. Except for the airplanes flying above, the tree-lined street was quiet and unassuming.

Robin had chosen the perfect place to lay low. It was highly unlikely anyone would find her here. That is, anyone except Jason Morgan.

The silver SUV had been parked a half a block from the alley since this morning. Jason, his right hand man Max and Keesha were inside, carefully assessing the situation over hot coffee and rolls.

According to his source, Robin left the house the day before to pick-up her airline tickets, but hadn't left since.

"Let's go," Keesha said, preparing to exit the vehicle.

"Where do you think you're going?" Jason asked pulling her back into the SUV.

"I'm going with you to talk to the Bird!" Keesha stated.

"No you're not!" Jason replied. From his harsh tone, Keesha knew his mind was made up.

"I agreed that you could come on this trip. But you're staying here with Max."

"Alright, I won't argue with you, but you have to promise me one thing," Keesha said.

"What's that?" Jason wondered.

"Promise me you won't kill her," Keesha said. "We both want her to pay for what she's done. But killing her won't bring our baby back. Besides there are other ways for Robin to be punished."

"Keesha, I don't know, if I can make that promise," Jason replied.

"Killing her means you'll end up dead or in jail. What happens to me? What happens to us, Jason?"

"Keesha, please!" he said exasperated.

"Promise me, Jason!" she pleaded. "Promise you won't kill her."

"Alright," he said. "I won't kill her. But I intend on putting the fear of God into her."

"That's fine," Keesha replied breathing a sigh of relief. "I'll wait out here with Max. But, if you're not back in twenty minutes, we're coming in. I have no intentions of underestimating that bitch again."

Robin had finished packing for her trip. She was making mental notes, when the familiar voice interrupted her train of thought.

"Going on a trip?" Jason asked.

Robin wasn't surprised to see Jason, but she was surprised he found her so soon. Knowing this day would come sooner or later; she turned to face the man who broke her heart.

"Hello, Jason. It's good to see you," she bitterly replied.

"Sorry I can't say the same," he said coldly.

"So, now what?" she asked. "Are you going to turn me into the cops or maybe kill me? Is that it, Jason?"

"No, I'm not going to kill you," he replied. "I made a promise to Keesha that I wouldn't."

Robin laughed bitterly, "Keesha better learn that you're promises don't mean a damn thing!" she spat. "You promised once to love me and look what happened. That bitch spreads her legs and now you can't think straight."

"Leave Keesha out of this," he demanded. "I realize now how much my affair with Keesha hurt you. But killing our baby for revenge, that was cruel, even for you.

"You're such a fucking hypocrite," Robin yelled. "Granted, losing your baby was an unfortunate accident. But, it's not like you can't have another one. But you have the nerve to stand here whining about your dead baby, when you've killed people without giving it a second thought and justified it as business."

Jason stood shaking his head in disbelief at the bitter and cold-hearted woman standing before him. The Robin he once loved was compassionate and kind. This person was a total stranger.

"You're right. I have killed people," he said. And I've begun questioning my choices and the impact they've had on the people around me. I know my actions have caused you a great deal of pain. But that still doesn't justify what you've done."

Robin clapped her hands in mock praise at Jason statement. "Oh how profound," she said. "But it's all bullshit Jason. The bottom line is, you underestimated me. You actually thought you could dump me for that whore and not suffer the consequences. But I showed the two of you, didn't I?" she screamed.

"I'm not here to argue with you Robin," he said, trying to control the rage building inside.

"Well, I do feel like arguing," she yelled. All the rage and anger she felt was finally coming to a head.

" I loved you Jason. There's nothing I wouldn't have done for you. We had a good life and a great future ahead. So why wasn't I enough?" she screamed, as the tears streamed down her face. "That whore had AJ. Why did she have to have you too?"

"I did love you Robin. But it took my affair with Keesha, to make me realize, I wasn't in love with you.

Robin laughed through the bitter tears. "Man, she must have gold between her legs, because you are seriously whipped. Then again, she's nothing but a freak. I bet she was a freak like that with AJ?"

"Shut-up!" Jason yelled.

Or what, you'll kill me?"She asked. "You don't have the guts. Besides, I think I did Keesha a favor."

"How's that?" he wondered trying to stay in control.

"I saved her from getting to attached to that baby. We both know, with the life you lead, she and the kid would've ended up dead sooner or later."

Blind rage took over as he grabbed Robin by the throat and pinned her against the wall.

"You worthless bitch!" he yelled as he felt her body squirm underneath is strong hands.

"You had no right to kill our child! Why didn't you kill me instead?" he demanded, his face covered with burning tears.

"You're right," Robin gasped clawing at his hands.

Jason's grip tightened around Robin's throat. All sense of logic no longer existed, as he tried to squeeze the life out of this woman.

Keesha's word played in his head, as he felt the sharp blade cut into his chest. "Don't underestimate her."

Jason stumbled back and fell to the floor. Eyes filled with pure hatred stared down at him before his world went black.
